Your data and choices
Privacy Policy
This page explains, in plain language, what data is processed where when you use PomoCraft. The core principle: you never need an account to use the timer, and most of your data stays on your own device.
Last updated: July 17, 2026
What data do we process?
When you use PomoCraft without signing in, your timer settings, theme preference, language choice, and task list are stored only in your browser's local storage (localStorage). This data is never sent to our servers and is removed when you clear your browser data.
If you choose to sign in with your Google account, authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication. In that case, the basic profile details attached to your Google account (name, email address, profile picture) plus your pomodoro session history, tasks, and timer settings are stored in Firebase (Cloud Firestore) so you can use them across devices.
Sign-in and accounts
- Signing in is entirely optional; the timer, tasks, and themes work without an account.
- Authentication is provided by Google; PomoCraft never sees or stores your password.
- For Firebase's data handling practices, see the Firebase privacy documentation.
Notifications and media controls
Browser notifications that alert you when a session ends are enabled only if you grant permission; that permission is managed by your browser and can be revoked at any time in its settings. The Media Session feature used for lock-screen and headset controls runs on your device and transmits no data.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
PomoCraft shows Google AdSense ads to stay free. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads; depending on your region and consent status, ads may be personalized. See how Google uses data on partner sites and manage ad personalization in Google Ads Settings. Details about cookies are on the cookie policy page.
Your rights over your data
- You can delete your local data at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
- To delete your account and the data stored in Firebase, contact us.
- For access, correction, or deletion requests, use the channels on the contact page.
Changes
This policy may be updated as new features are added to the app. For significant changes, the last-updated date at the top of this page is refreshed.
